By typing my name below, I AGREE that if a Methodist University student serves as an intern at my organization:
o The intern should be given tasks and activities which are relevant to their academic area of study and allow them to practice skills and theory learned in the classroom. The employer must provide a detailed job description to both the intern and the University.
o The internship should be treated as a learning experience and the working environment reflect this. The employer should familiarize the intern with all aspects of the business and encourage and allow him/her to experience as many different areas as possible.
o The employer should provide consistent and supportive supervision, guidance, and feedback. There must be and on-site supervisor assigned to supervise the internship experience.
o The employer must agree to support the learning objectives of the internship course in which the student is enrolled, which may require additional resources, activities, and documentation from the employer.
o The employer must provide a safe, comfortable environment for the intern. In order to maintain a healthy learning environment, we require that the employer uphold the Methodist University policies regarding Nondiscrimination and sexual harassment.
